Four Dimensional Architecture Dynamic Constructions in the Dimension of Time
Future Building-Final Demo Video
This project explores the possibilities of a future architecture, a ‘four dimensional architecture’ based on the changing dimension of time. In this concept, architecture is no longer a static physical structure, but a dynamic entity that can evolve over time and adapt to the environment and the needs of its users. Through deformable spatial units, intelligent projection technology and computationally generated architectural structures, the building is able to take on different appearances and functions at different times. The core objective is to break through the fixed form of traditional architecture and make the building an organism that interacts with the environment and people.
In terms of design concept, the project revolves around ‘dynamic structure, virtual facade and integration of time and space’. The basic framework of the building is generated by Ameba topology optimisation, and the mechanics are optimised by intelligent algorithms to make it both light and stable, while at the same time the spatial units can be dynamically adapted to different environments. The façade design eschews traditional solid materials and instead uses intelligent projection or augmented reality (AR) technology to enable the building to display a variety of visual forms at different times of day and under different lighting conditions. Architecture is not just a physical structure, but the result of the interplay of time and space, where its visual impact and spatial function can be adaptively adjusted to external factors.

In terms of design concept, the project revolves around ‘dynamic structure, virtual facade and integration of time and space’. Ameba Structure
AI Architectural Skins
The value of this project is that it proposes a more sustainable, interactive and experimental form of architecture. The façade of the building no longer relies on fixed materials, which reduces the resource consumption of traditional building exteriors and also drastically reduces maintenance costs, providing a new direction for the future development of sustainable architecture. Another important dimension is interactivity. The building can adjust its appearance and function in real time according to human activities, environmental changes and different usage needs, making the space more intelligent and personalised. At the experimental level, this project integrates several disciplinary fields such as AI, architectural design, AR/VR, topology optimisation, etc., which not only proposes new thinking about the future direction of architecture, but may also have a wider impact in the fields of game design, virtual reality, digital twin cities, etc.
This concept is a breakthrough in the traditional way of thinking about architecture, which is not only a space that houses people, but also a dynamic living organism that can evolve, be perceived and interact. In this way, architecture is given a new dimension of time; it is no longer a static existence, but a spatial form that is constantly changing, adapting and growing. This research is not only an architectural innovation, but also a new imagination of the future human lifestyle.
