Description
A leak in the ceiling of the Louvre pulls Jacques into an emotional vortex where a cosmic teardrop dissolves the museum’s masterpieces into their rawest forms. Follow your tears and see where it might take you. The film fuses traditional VFX with a variety of boundary-pushing AI techniques that give way to a new aesthetic and offer an alternative to how visual effects will be approached in the future.

In “Absolve,” I sought to explore the intersection of human emotion and the transformative power of art, set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most iconic bastions of culture and history—the Musee du Louvre. This project was not just a fusion of music and visual storytelling but a dialogue between the past and the present, the tangible and the ethereal, the real and the surreal.
Collaborating with the enigmatic French musician Jacques, “Absolve” became a canvas where the emotional resonance of art converges with the boundless possibilities of AI-driven visual effects. The film navigates the journey of a cosmic teardrop—a metaphor for the collective consciousness and the emotional impact art wields on the human soul. As the teardrop traverses the Louvre, it morphs, distorts, and ultimately reveals the hidden pains and untold stories behind each masterpiece.
This project was an ambitious endeavor to push the boundaries of traditional filmmaking by integrating AI as a core element of the creative process, not just as a tool but as a collaborator. The AI’s role in “Absolve” went beyond generating imagery; it was the conceptual launching point that illustrates the fear of AI destroying art into a fantastical and beautifully horrid sight to be seen.
