About The Artist

Madrid-raised London resident, Chino Moya, takes a multidisciplinary approach to his work exploring themes of collapsing utopias, loneliness, techno-spirituality and the decline of traditional masculinity often employing dark, surreal and absurd humour. 

His solo show Meta-Mythical Optimisation opened at Seventeen Gallery, London, in January 2025. He has a series of video installations currently on display at the Saatchi Gallery in London as part of The Long Now an exhibition celebrating the London institution’s 40 anniversary. His video for St. Vincent was featured in Digital Witness at LACMA which took the title from his work. He is the recipient of the 2025 BMW Digital Award. 

His latest video work End-O-Bore was presented at Art Cologne in April 2026 and that same month he was part of the two-people exhibition Almost Real at Pocko in Tokyo.

In 2025 he presented his AI generated film Four Fluctuations at Belvedere 21 Museum in Vienna, in HAB Museum Budapest, Benta, Istanbul and Centro Conde Duque, Madrid. He just curated the moving image section of Voltaje art and technology fair in Bogotá. Other recent shows include Decoding the Black Box at the Museum Stadt Sindelfingen, Germany, Certainty at Solo Contemporary, Madrid and After Human at Steinhauser Gallery, Slovakia. 

His video installations were also displayed at MMMAD digital art show and were shown in public screens across Spain as part of SMTH. Additionally, his large format photographs have been exhibited at DongGang Photography Museum in South Korea and at his solo show Monosodium Glutamate in London’s Pocko gallery. 

In 2021 Moya released his debut feature film Undergods, funded by the British Film Institute and Ridley Scott’s Black Dog Films. Premiering in cinemas in the US and the UK, it was selected as Film of the Week by The Guardian and garnered attention in The New York Times and the BBC, among other publications. His previous short films have received awards and have been featured in festivals worldwide.

His talks and lectures include Royal College of Art, University of the Arts London Camberwell College, Goldsmiths University, Rhode Island School of Design, Museum Stadt Sindelfingen, Kupfer Gallery, Pocko Japan, Iberia Space and Solo Contemporary.
