Stratamorphic Dreaming Proof-of-Concept

computer graphics computational photography artificial intelligence deep learning deepdream

Schynige Platte ‘Stratamorphic Dream’ (2026)

This artwork represents a structural evolution of my Dreamscape series whereby photographic depth is partitioned into distinct spatial zones, each manifesting a unique motif that diminishes in scale and complexity as the perspective recedes toward the horizon. In this proof-of-concept, the scene is comprised of six zones of distinctly different "dreaming" using my proprietary super-scaled version of Google's 'DeepDream' software. Adding to the richness, the lowest (foreground) zone is dreamed in three distinct passes in three different styles at three different scales. The next two (midground) zones are dreamed in two distinct passes in two different styles at two different scales. Further up the image, the three most distant zones are each dreamed in a single pass, each in a different style at reducing scales. Finally, the last and highest zone (the clouds and sky) is left undreamed.
