Things Can Go On As Normal, 2025
An empty warehouse. Inanimate objects start to morph into hybrid glitch creatures. These critters disguise themselves in generic human forms and go about their productive day...
This short video explores the human ghosts that haunt machine visions. When I was working on 'The Seeker' back in 2018 I noticed how early Image Recognition Machine Learning systems were so eager to identify people even in empty rooms - the slightest shadow or rounded shape appeared as potential humans to these systems.
Forward to 2025 and the same tendencies endure in AI video gen technologies. While generating video sequences from images of an unpopulated spaces I encountered these emerging homunculi over and over again.
