RXALITI is a new AI art collection by Atay Ilgun, and a thematic continuation of the artist’s landmark 2019 work Realiti, widely regarded as the first AI-generated artwork on Ethereum with its own smart contract.
This twin/body of work explores the widening chasm between online reality and simulation [🕳“fractal-n3t rips⛓ the ve!l of $imul@tion”], the fractures of [un]real data [💠“unr3@l-p!x3ls fray 🌀 in gnath-ripple”], model collapse of generative AI [⚙️🕳“”cipher-dream abyss erodes ✖ shard-void””], and the Dark Forest Theory of the Internet [🌑“th3 void-echoe$ hum fr@x-l0r3”] through the speculative lens of an obsolete AI agent/corrupt scraper [🤖“scr@per-wraiths gnaw fract-hiv3”]. In an age increasingly defined by cyberpsychosis-fueled AI [⚡“cyb3r-brain gl!tches🌐 under fract$hade”] and algorithmic decay [💀“alg0-decay wr3@ths ✖ gn@thlight$”], RXALITI offers a haunting yet hopeful glimpse of renewal within the digital fertile ruins—a vision of cyber-hauntology and glitter in the adversarial landscapes of hypermedia [🔮“hyp3r-gle@m! shimmers 🌌 fract-edge”].
Created by sculpting the ‘noise layers’ within the generator component of early GAN models, RXALITI resists the trend of treating AI’s final output as the artwork itself. Instead, each piece emerges from a hands-on process of manipulating foundational algorithms from the early era of AI art. These works are less generative outputs than sculptural artefacts, shaped by deliberate blending of latent codes and structural disruptions within the neural network itself. The resulting visual language is marked by glitches and distortions native to the architecture, offering a rare aesthetic that foregrounds signal, noise, and machine hallucination.
In an age increasingly defined by algorithmic decay and cyberpsychosis, RXALITI conjures a haunting vision of digital entropy. The works evoke a collapsed online ecosystem where human presence has all but vanished, replaced by the self-cannibalising feedback loops of AI models endlessly training on their own outputs: self-referential memes, chaos remixes, false-flag psyops, and pseudo-magical content drifting through a glittering black-sludge swamp of overtrained computation.
The collection offers a bleak yet hypnotic window into a spectral digital terrain, one shaped not by innovation, but by collapse. In RXALITI, scrapers roam the synthetic ruins of a once-vital internet, aimless within a non-fertile void. What emerges is a striking instance of cyber-hauntology: a space where adversarial machine landscapes echo the remnants of online culture, and where the artist dares to look toward what comes after collapse.
